Protests over reintegration of 720 terrorists
Protests have greeted the reintegration of 720 repented terrorists to their communities by the Borno State government after they completed a rehabilitation and deradicalisation programme aimed at helping them live peacefully in society.
A northern social media influencer, Sarki whoi goes by the name @Waspapping on X, formerly Twitter triggered the reaction with a post condemning the Governor Babagana Zulum’s gesture.
“You’re releasing 720 terrorists who have murdered thousands of innocent civilians back into our communities, and you expect insecurity to come to an end?
Stupid leaders. Hate you guys with everything in me,” Sarki said in one of his posts.
Reigning curses on the government, Sarki said: “It will not be well with the people we call leaders in this part of the world. This is why people from other regions keep insulting us, and frankly, they’re right.”
Following the development, he said: “There is absolutely no justification for rehabilitating and reintegrating terrorists into society while innocent citizens continue to suffer from their actions. At this point, it is difficult to justify why Nnamdi Kanu remains in prison.”
He submitted that if the government is willing to pardon, rehabilitate, and reintegrate former terrorists into society, then “it should also consider extending the same approach to Nnamdi Kanu.”
Fellow Nigerians also expressed their displeasure with the Zulum led government’s decision.

15k killed, almost 13k released into the society in the past and recently another 750 released. To come and do what exactly, mey guard or another threat. Trusting murderers is practically impossible, no matter what they sworn to. Terrorism may persist and keep spreading with the approach.

Honestly, I am fucking tired of this country, seems we stand for nothing.. clueless leaders who all they think of is how much they can embezzle, without thinking about what Nigeria will be left with after they/we are all gone.We citizens need to come out before this is too late

Truly insecurity can never come to and ends in Nigeria especially in the northern states with this kind of disturbing behavior by the northern government Releasing the terrorists in the society simply means that northern leaders is the sponsor and commanders of the terrorists. 😂

In the same country, people are jailed for stealing small things, and no one considers pardoning them. But when it comes to serial killers, our leaders love reintegrating them because they’re seen as reformed after rehabilitation. It’s hard to stay sane in Nigeria!

The millions budgeted to rehabilitated those criminal could be use to purchase, educational material, hospital equipment, among other valuable items.
