Prominent Reps lose reelection bid
Three incumbent members of the House of Representatives have lost the APC primaries and will not be returning to the Green Chamber.
In Nasarawa State, Hon Mohammed Ari of Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency lost to Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim as 99% of the total results shows he is leading overwhelmingly.
In the Nasarawa Eggon, Wamba and Akwanga federal constituency, the incumbent member of the house of representative, Hon Jeremiah Umaru lost his return ticket to Engr Tony Bala Shammah who defeated him in all the three LGAs that make up the constituency.
Similarly, Rafiu Ajakaye, a former media aide to Kwara State governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq picked the House of Representatives ticket for Ifelodun-Oyun-Offa Federal constituency in 2027 general elections.
Across different polling units in Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun, party stalwarts and supporters voted heavily for Ajakaye, beating the incumbent with huge margins across the Constituency. In Ipee (Oyun), Ajakaye polled 1551 as against Ismail’s 0 vote.
In Erin Ile South where Tijani comes from, Ajakaye polled 707 votes to beat other contestants including Tijani who polled zero votes.
In his Ile Ire Ward, Ajakaye won by a landslide by polling 300 voted as against Tijani’s 1 vote. The election was held in a carnival-like atmosphere which underscores his reputation as a people’s person and credible figure.
Ajakaye has won in all the wards so far declared in his 42-ward Constituency as of Saturday afternoon.
