Veteran Nollywood actor Taofeek Salami has recounted a deeply personal and painful episode from his marriage, alleging that his late wife once confessed in court that two of their five children were not his.
Speaking during an interview on the African A-List Podcast, Salami said the revelation emerged during a legal dispute following what he described as his wife’s long-running relationship with another man.
According to him, the incident began when he returned from a film location about five years ago to find his wife, who was nine months pregnant at the time, absent from home and unreachable for two days.
He alleged that after tracking her down, he later discovered she had performed an introduction ceremony with another man, who he claimed was already married with children.
Salami further claimed that tensions escalated after a confrontation between them, leading to the child’s birth and subsequent dispute over paternity. He said his wife later insisted on holding the naming ceremony at his residence despite allegedly stating that the child was not his, a move he said prompted him to involve law enforcement.
The actor added that the matter eventually led to court proceedings for the dissolution of their marriage, during which, according to him, she admitted that two of their children were not biologically his.
He also alleged that the man involved in the relationship later abandoned her, a situation he linked to her declining mental health prior to her death last year.
Salami described the entire episode as the most painful experience of his life, adding that he continues to seek forgiveness for his late wife.
