Northern influencer calls for breaking up of Nigeria

A Northern influencer  who goes by the name Sarki. @Waspapping on X has  called for breaking up of Nigeria.

In a tweet posted on April 29, 2026, Sarki said: “As a northerner, I’m very okay with Nigeria dividing and everyone going their separate ways rather than having Peter Obi as President of this great nation. Let everyone go their separate ways so he can rule over BIAFRA.”

Reacting to his tweet, Abu Musty, tweeting with the handle @A__Sadik, said: “As Northerners, many simply desire what brings stability and relief to their people. If separation is seen as a path that could genuinely ease the burdens of the masses, then it becomes a thought worth reflecting on. However, if it risks deeper hardship and uncertainty, then it is only right to pray that such a path never materialises. In the end, what truly matters is an outcome that brings peace, justice, and a better life for all.

Any support for Peter Obi’s presidential ambition is an endorsement of the Igbo ethnic agendas – Biafra, IPOB, NK and secessionist plans, for which they would always fail. Nigeria cannot have someone who with his supporters daily hate and disparage it as its president.

Prudence @Poetpablo15: If Nigeria divides, at least our country will be at rest. There will be no bandit coming from the north to kill our people in the central anymore.  There would be peace all over Oduduwa and Biafra, but I wouldn’t be part of this rubbish. It’s treason. As a northerner as well! I rather have competence over tribalism! We don’t care about who rules or their tribe or affiliation! What matters to us northerners now is a working system, we have died enough! We have suffered enough, we have been backward, the most poverty driven part of this country, we deserve better, we deserve competence over tribe or religion, and we are backing Peter obi!
