Daura Emirate turbans Alhaji Dr Mukhtar Jibrin as Sarkin Maganin Kasar Hausa

The Daura Emirate in Katsina State has turbaned Alhaji Dr Mukhtar Jibrin as the Sarkin Maganin Kasar Hausa Babba, in recognition of his    commitment to promoting the good of the people and the society at large.

The turbanning ceremony was carried out by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Dr Umar Faruk Umar, CON, the 60th traditional ruler of the emirate.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Emir prayed for the new titleholder and advised him to lead with the fear of God. He also urged Jibrin to carry everyone along in the discharge of his responsibilities and in all his dealings.

In his response, Jibrin expressed profound appreciation to the Emir and the Daura Emirate for the honour. He pledged to abide by the laws and traditions guiding the emirate and to follow the instructions and advice given to him.

Jibrin, a prominent practitioner and advocate of traditional medicine, has continued to play an active role in Nigeria’s natural health sector through his work with LAMJIB Herbal Mixture.

His supporters say his efforts have contributed to the promotion of indigenous remedies, cultural preservation and the growing interest in natural and sustainable approaches to wellness.

• The new Sarkin Maganin Kasar Hausa Babba currently serves as the Vice President, North-West, of the National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP)

He also holds several other traditional titles, including Sardaunan Dnata, Santurakin Bago of Gombe State and Wanban Funtua.

Born on December 28, 1980, in Kulluru, Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Jibrin began his education at Aujara Primary School, where he studied from 1986 to 1992.

He subsequently attended Government Secondary School, Aujara, from 1992 to 1998, before proceeding to Hausawa Islamic School in Kano State for further Islamic education.

The turbanning adds another milestone to Jibrin’s career and his involvement in the advancement of traditional medicine in Nigeria, as he continues to advocate the preservation and development of indigenous knowledge and healthcare practices.
