Content creator recounts harrowing experience in DSS custody
Content creator and social media personality Justice Crack has shared details of his experience while in the custody of the Department of State Services, stating that officials of the agency treated him professionally during his detention.
In a post titled “My Experience with the DSS – Part One”, Justice Crack clarified that the account reflected only his personal experience.
According to him, he was taken to a DSS facility on the night of April 30 after spending several days blindfolded and in the custody of unidentified men who initially claimed to be DSS operatives.
He alleged that he later discovered the men were not officials of the secret police.
Justice Crack said he arrived at the DSS facility still blindfolded and handcuffed, adding that his blindfold was only removed after he was taken inside the premises.
He explained that an officer who received him spoke calmly and assured him that he was safe.
The content creator said he was traumatized and confused at the time, noting that he had not fully understood why he was being detained.
He further revealed that he was given tea and bread shortly after arriving at the facility, describing it as the first proper meal he had eaten in days.
According to him, DSS officials also took him to the medical unit where his blood pressure and general health condition were checked.
Justice Crack stated that he was later moved to a room with other detainees where he was provided with a bed and duvet, allowing him to sleep comfortably for the first time in days.
He said investigators began questioning him the following morning but declined to discuss details of the investigation because the matter is still before the court.
The content creator maintained that throughout his stay, DSS officials treated him respectfully and professionally.
“Nobody shouted at me, physically assaulted me, or used force against me during the period I spent there,” he stated.
Justice Crack also said officials ensured he had food and basic care, adding that he was asked about his meal preferences during the process.
He noted that officers handling his case continued working on the matter during weekends and public holidays.
While commending the DSS for what he described as professionalism, he added that improvements could still be made, especially in the areas of investigation speed and administrative processes.
He reiterated that the account reflected only his per
sonal experience with the agency.

World music icons mourn murdered Nigerian artiste
Music stars across the globe have continued to pay tributes to the late British singer and songwriter Talay Riley, stabbed to death in East London. He was 35 years old.
Notable singers, including Stormzy, took to the comment section to write “I’m sorry bro”.
Craig David, who worked with Talay on his 2018 album ‘The Time is Now,’ said: “Sending so much love to you & the family. His beautiful energy will continue to be felt & shown from the other side.”
Joining the fray, Scribz, born Michael Orabiyi Riley, penned an emotional tribute to his older sibling on Instagram.
“I never thought the day would come where I’d be writing this, but unfortunately I can confirm that on the morning of Friday 5th June my big brother YINKA (Talay Riley) passed away,” he wrote.
“My heart is shattered! This doesn’t feel real. It feels like a bad dream. Just before he went to sleep we spoke about the future, staying positive and about everything we still had left to do.
“I never imagined that would be our last conversation. Yinka wasn’t just my brother. He was my mother’s son, a friend to many, a mentor, an inspiration, and a light in so many people’s lives.
“Even with everything you accomplished this was far too soon. I love you brother. Thank you for everything. Rest in paradise Yinka. Until we meet again.”
Talay’s death was also confirmed in a statement released by his family. They described their loss as an “overwhelming sadness”.
The family remembered Riley not only for his professional accomplishments but for his character.
“It is with overwhelming sadness that we confirm that Mark ‘Yinka’ Orabiyi professionally known as Talay Riley passed away yesterday morning,” the statement reads.
“Talay will fondly be remembered by those who knew him publicly for his incredible talent as a Grammy Award winning, multi platinum selling songwriter & artist.
“For those that knew and loved him personally it is his humour, generous spirit and unmistakable presence that will be missed the most.”
The family also expressed gratitude for the public’s support following the tragedy.
“We are deeply grateful for the enormous outpouring of love and support that we have received through messages, calls and visits over the past hours,” the statement added.
