City Boy Movement visits Akpabio, reaffirms support for Tinubu’s re-election
The City Boy Movement (CBM) on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the next general elections.
The delegation, led by the Movement’s Director General, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, said the visit underscored the group’s commitment to unity, collaboration and the continued implementation of the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.
During the meeting, Shoga commended Akpabio for what he described as his exemplary leadership of the National Assembly and unwavering commitment to democratic governance. He also praised the Senate President’s support for the Tinubu administration, noting that the legislature had played a key role in advancing legislation and oversight aimed at promoting national development and institutional stability.
The CBM leadership used the meeting to discuss the achievements of the current administration, the need for stronger collaboration among stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and strategies for expanding grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
The group reaffirmed its support for President Tinubu and pledged to intensify grassroots engagement, voter education and lawful political mobilisation across the country in support of the President’s re-election bid.
According to the delegation, its activities will continue to be guided by the principles of peaceful participation, issue-based advocacy, inclusiveness and respect for democratic values.
Responding, Akpabio thanked the delegation for the visit and commended the City Boy Movement for its commitment to democratic participation and civic engagement. He urged members of the group to remain united and peaceful while promoting the policies and achievements of the current administration in line with the rule of law and the electoral process.
The meeting ended with both sides expressing their resolve to work together to consolidate the gains of the Tinubu administration, particularly in the areas of economic growth, national security, infrastructure development and the welfare of Nigerians.
