Air Peace  expands regional connectivity

Nigeria’s leading carrier, Air Peace, has announced the launch of new flight services across West and Central Africa, marking another significant milestone in its regional expansion strategy aimed at strengthening connectivity, promoting trade and supporting economic integration across the continent.

The new routes are expected to connect major commercial and economic hubs within the West and Central African sub-regions, providing passengers with more travel options while reducing dependence on foreign airlines for intra-African travel.

Speaking on the expansion, the airline’s management said the initiative aligns with its commitment to advancing regional integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by making air travel more accessible, affordable and efficient for business travellers, tourists and investors.

According to the airline, the expanded network is designed to facilitate seamless movement of people and goods across the region, boost tourism, encourage cross-border investments and enhance economic cooperation among African countries.

Air Peace noted that improved regional connectivity remains critical to unlocking Africa’s economic potential, adding that the new services will help bridge existing gaps in air transportation while supporting governments’ efforts to deepen commercial relations.

The airline explained that passengers travelling on the new routes will enjoy its signature hospitality, competitive fares and modern fleet, as well as convenient connections to its extensive domestic and international destinations.

Industry analysts described the expansion as a strategic move that reinforces Air Peace’s position as one of Africa’s fastest-growing airlines. They noted that stronger regional connectivity is essential for increasing trade volumes, improving labour mobility and accelerating the implementation of the AfCFTA.

The analysts also observed that many African travellers still transit through Europe or the Middle East to reach neighbouring African countries, a situation that increases travel costs and journey times. They said additional direct regional services by indigenous carriers such as Air Peace would help address this long-standing challenge.

The latest expansion comes as Air Peace continues to grow its international footprint through investments in fleet expansion, route development and enhanced passenger services. The airline has consistently pursued a strategy of connecting Nigerian cities with key destinations across Africa while expanding into intercontinental markets.

Business leaders welcomed the development, saying improved air connectivity will stimulate commerce, facilitate business partnerships and create new opportunities for investors across West and Central Africa.
