US set to remove Nigerian for alleged kidnapping, rape
Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, a Nigerian national who entered the United States on a student visa in 2007 but allegedly remained in the country after leaving school, is set to be removed from the U.S., according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In a post on X, ICE said Ajayi failed to depart the United States after discontinuing his studies and subsequently accumulated a criminal record that included convictions for domestic violence, trespassing, intimidation and obstruction.
The agency further stated that Ajayi had also faced charges of kidnapping, rape and family neglect.
ICE attributed the impending deportation to the immigration enforcement policies of U.S. President Donald Trump, stating that efforts to remove criminal undocumented immigrants from the country had contributed to the action.
“Thanks to President Trump’s commitment to getting criminal illegal aliens out of this country, Ajayi will be leaving the United States shortly,” the agency said.
ICE did not provide further details regarding the timing of Ajayi’s removal or the status of the charges listed in its statement.
