Ndigbo to adopt Tinubu as consensus candidate May 29
The Southeast will adopt President Bola Tinubu as consensus candidate may 29, Ndigbo for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 Forum (NDI-ABAT), has said.
NDI-ABAT said this will be done with over 40 affiliate groups ahead of the 2027 election.
The forum disclosed this in a statement signed by the National Coordinator, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and the National Publicity Secretary Dr Peter Ozo.
The statement reads: “In a move that reflects the astute political acumen and forward – thinking of the Igbo people, over 43 Igbo affiliate groups, in unison with NDI-ABAT, have reached a momentous decision. We are set to jointly announce and officially adopt President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the consensus candidate of the Southeast and the Igbo Nation for the 2027 Presidential elections.
“This significant declaration is scheduled to take place during the President’s proposed visit to the Southeast to commission two newly constructed federal road projects: the Enugu – Nnewi Expressway and the Enugu – Port Expressway (Aba Axis). This visit is also a commemoration of his third anniversary in office on May 29th, 2026.”
