Ndi-ABAT plots Obi’s fall in Igboland
Ndigbo for Tinubu 2027 Forum has restated its commitment to securing a landslide electoral victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 Presidential elections.
The forum disclosed this in a statement signed by the National Coordinator Okechukwu Isiguzoro and General Secretary Dr Ugwuoke Ugwuoke Jr.
The forum said: “Our conviction is rooted in the firm belief that with the strategic leadership of Senator Dave Umahi and other unwavering allies of President Tinubu, particularly in the Southeast region, a decisive victory is assured.
“NDI-ABAT takes this solemn opportunity to candidly address President Tinubu with a message that is both a reflection of the political realities and an unflinching forecast of the challenges ahead. We have gathered the courage to state a bitter truth: the support of many Igbo Governors in the Southeast may not be sufficient in rallying the people behind President Tinubu’s candidacy. Their detachment from the grassroots, and the stark disconnect between these leaders and the electorate, pose a significant hurdle for President Tinubu’s chances of winning the Southeast in 2027.
“The tragic reality, which too many have failed to convey to the President, is that these governors are woefully out of touch with the needs and aspirations of the Igbo people. Their actions have consistently undermined the very democratic processes that could have uplifted local communities. A glaring example is their role in sabotaging the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Local Government Autonomy Act—an act that could have granted local governments more control and autonomy, thereby enhancing grassroots development. The abandonment of this pivotal decision leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of the people, who now see these leaders as self-serving figures rather than agents of positive change.”
In light of this, NDI-ABAT implored President Tinubu to recalibrate his expectations and not place undue trust in the hands of the governors. “Their ability to deliver in 2027 is, at best, questionable, and at worst, they may betray the trust of the President, putting his political fortunes in jeopardy. For this reason, NDI-ABAT advocates for a more robust, grassroots-driven campaign led by figures with genuine influence, credibility, and a track record of delivering for the people.
“On a more hopeful note, President Tinubu’s policies and infrastructural initiatives in the Southeast have already begun to yield tangible economic benefits for Ndigbo. The region has seen significant progress, particularly with the completion of critical infrastructure that has improved both connectivity and access. This progress is a testament to the President’s commitment to the people of the Southeast, and it lays the groundwork for a successful 2027 campaign.
“However, for these efforts to reach their full potential, NDI-ABAT advocates for two critical measures that would galvanize support for President Tinubu’s candidacy: the creation of a new state for the Southeast and a Presidential Amnesty Deal for repentant Igbo militants and Biafra agitators. Such actions would not only secure widespread support for the APC but would also demonstrate a commitment to long-term peace and reconciliation in the region. These initiatives, when paired with the leadership of Senator Dave Umahi, would ensure a political landslide for President Tinubu.
“Senator Umahi, whose credentials and political standing in the Southeast are impeccable, has proven himself as a capable and effective leader. His tireless work in developing infrastructure across the country, including the completion of key road networks, places him in an ideal position to lead President Tinubu’s campaign in Southern Nigeria. With Umahi at the helm, NDI-ABAT is confident that President Tinubu will secure victory not only in the Southeast but also in Lagos, Abuja, and other critical regions.”
The statement said NDI-ABAT’s grassroots presence across the 95 local government areas of the Southeast, combined with a strong political network in Lagos and Abuja, creates an unstoppable force that will ensure Peter Obi’s 2023 victories are not repeated in 2027. We are committed to ensuring that President Tinubu’s victory in the Southeast, Lagos, and Abuja is not just a possibility but an undeniable reality.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory is sacrosanct—it is a cause that NDI-ABAT will tirelessly champion. The Southeast, Lagos, and Abuja will stand united in support of a leader whose policies have already proven to benefit the people.
“NDI-ABAT urges all stakeholders to rally behind this mission, as we embark on the road to an inevitable victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.”
