Heirs Insurance Group has achieved a major continental milestone after its subsidiaries were recognised among Africa’s fastest-growing companies in the latest Financial Times ranking compiled in partnership with global research firm Statista.
The prestigious ranking, which tracks companies with the highest revenue growth across Africa between 2021 and 2024, featured Heirs Life Assurance and Heirs General Insurance among the continent’s top-performing businesses.
According to the report, Heirs Life Assurance secured the 7th position overall with an impressive compound annual growth rate of 147.85 percent, while Heirs General Insurance ranked 41st with a CAGR of 60.02 percent.
The recognition underscores the rapid expansion of Heirs Insurance Group and highlights the increasing relevance of Nigeria’s insurance sector within Africa’s evolving financial services landscape.
Industry stakeholders say the feat reflects the growing success of companies leveraging technology, innovation, and customer-focused services to drive growth despite challenging economic conditions across the continent.
The annual Financial Times ranking is widely regarded as one of Africa’s leading corporate performance benchmarks, evaluating firms based on revenue growth, operational scale, and market competitiveness.
Speaking on the achievement, the leadership of Heirs Insurance Group described the recognition as a strong endorsement of the company’s digital-first strategy and commitment to transforming insurance delivery in Nigeria and beyond.
The ranking also reinforces the expanding footprint of Heirs Holdings, the pan-African investment company founded by businessman Tony Elumelu. In addition to the insurance subsidiaries, another Heirs Holdings-backed company, Redtech, also made the prestigious list.
Analysts noted that the inclusion of Heirs Insurance subsidiaries reflects broader changes within Nigeria’s insurance industry, where operators are increasingly embracing digital platforms, retail expansion, and innovative products to improve insurance penetration.
The Financial Times report further showed that fintech, technology, and financial services firms dominated the rankings, with Nigerian companies maintaining a strong presence among Africa’s fastest-growing enterprises.
Founded under the Heirs Holdings ecosystem, Heirs Insurance Group has continued to expand its operations through strategic partnerships, digital innovation, and customer-oriented insurance solutions aimed at deepening financial inclusion across Africa.
