El-Rufai appears again at Federal High Court
A former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has appeared again at the Federal High Court as proceedings in his trial over alleged financial misconduct resumed.
He arrived at the court under noticeable but controlled security, with officials overseeing activities around the premises.
His return follows a temporary release granted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). The release allowed him to attend the funeral of his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who passed away in Cairo, Egypt.
Reports indicate the decision was made on compassionate grounds due to the family’s loss, though the ICPC has not publicly clarified the terms attached to the bail.
At the time of this report, it is still uncertain whether El-Rufai will remain on temporary bail or be taken back into ICPC custody as the court proceedings continue.
