APM gets Presidential aspirant

Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election.

Makinde said he will be contesting under the platform of the Allied People’s Movement.

The governor also unveiled the Reset Nigeria Movement alongside a dedicated presidential campaign website aimed at driving nationwide mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.

Makinde introduced the Seyi Makinde presidential campaign website as the central platform for the movement’s vision, policy engagement, volunteer registration and grassroots participation across Nigeria and among citizens in the diaspora.

Speaking during the declaration at Mapo Hall on Thursday, Makinde said Nigeria requires competent and accountable leadership capable of rebuilding public trust, strengthening institutions and delivering measurable progress for citizens.

The event attracted party leaders, professionals, youth groups and supporters, including former Osun State governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, as mobilisation activities for the 2027 elections begin.

Addressing supporters, Makinde said, “Nigeria cannot continue with politics as usual. This is the time to reset our nation, rebuild public trust, strengthen institutions, and create a system that works for all Nigerians.”
