Angry Nigerians pounce on Remi Tinubu

First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has incurred the anger of the citizens after she flagged off the distribution of 100 trucks of rice and N1.2 billion in palliative support for vulnerable households across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The intervention, carried out in collaboration with the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Political and Other Matters, is aimed at supporting vulnerable Muslim communities ahead of the Eid al-Adha celebrations.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony in Kaduna, Mrs Tinubu said the gesture was a demonstration of solidarity with the Muslim Ummah in northern Nigeria and a practical expression of compassion and support during the festive season.

She said “As we approach Eid Kabir, a season of sacrifice, compassion and gratitude, this intervention translates the message of the season into palliatives for vulnerable Muslim communities across all northern states and the Federal Capital Territory.”

The gesture, laudable as it sounds, however, did not go down well with many citizens.

What a shame! that a country they are in charge of the citizens can’t afford rice……is the Northern people that poor that they can’t afford the rice they cultivate? She is proud to announce giving rice and palliative to the Muslim community. So you keep them at the poverty level 💯 in order to offer them not progress but some few cups of rice and noodles. First lady sends rice to every state in the North. May be, Tinubu used Rice to solve erectile dysfunction for even the first lady to believe that rice solves all problem. 😭😭😂😂😂
